Dearborn Faculty to Present at Statewide Conference on School Avoidance
At Dearborn Academy, our faculty and staff are recognized as experts in their fields, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion to their roles. It’s what makes Dearborn Academy stand out and what drives our continued success. We are proud to share that three of our faculty members have been invited to present at the upcoming Massachusetts Partnership for Youth Conference titled: "Attendance Today for Success Tomorrow: Addressing School Avoidance."
The conference will take place in Lexington and will feature Sheilah Gauch, M.Ed., LICSW, Principal and Clinical Director of Dearborn Academy; Dayna Mann, LMHC, a clinician at Dearborn; and Hannah Sycks, M.Ed., a Special Education and English teacher. These faculty members will share their expertise on interventions, best practices, and strategies to address school avoidance, a pressing issue faced by many schools across Massachusetts.
This hybrid event will include a keynote address by Massachusetts Secretary of Education Patrick Tutweiler, who will outline statewide initiatives to boost school attendance. We are honored that our team will be part of this important conversation, helping schools learn how to re-engage students in their academic journey.
We’re proud of Sheilah, Dayna, and Hannah for their leadership and for representing Dearborn Academy on such a critical issue!
