Chloe Nelson, a teacher at Dearborn Academy, has been teaching rhyme scheme and imagery to her 5/6 class this past quarter.  The class studied many different styles of poetry, and recently used John Updike as a model to develop Stanzas.

Below are some of the poems written by the sixth graders.

On Wednesday, May 13, 2015, students from the middle school held a bake sale in order to donate money to UNICEF to help the people of Nepal devastated by the recent earthquake (more about the quake below).

There were lots of great goodies to be had, an $260 was raised, $130 from bake sales, and $130 through the generous matched donation by Howard Rossman, director of of Dearborn Academy.
