For the past ten years Dearborn Academy has offered a culinary course to the high school students. The course teaches culinary skills through the use of recipe standardization, dry heat cooking, moist heat cooking, steaming, broiling, baking, sautéing and cooking on the grill. Students learn proper cutting, dicing and fileting techniques, proper safety techniques in and around the kitchen including proper sanitization and proper use of cutlery. Students learn the techniques through hands on training and educational videos.
